Thank you for saying this so clearly.

Justice means refusing to let his name fade or his death be normalized. We’re still here. We’re still watching. Accountability doesn’t expire.

RESIST | FIGHT's avatar

What matters here isn’t how loud the reaction is — it’s whether attention stays long enough to change outcomes.

These patterns repeat because institutions rely on distraction, polarization, and fatigue to avoid accountability. When focus fragments, nothing moves.

Staying with the facts, the harm, and the systems that allow it is how pressure becomes durable instead of performative.

Me Always's avatar

EXACTLY!! and speaking of focus……..

RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES !!!

NOW !!!

UNREDACTED !!!!!!

RESIST | FIGHT's avatar

Exactly. That is the focus.

No more distractions, no more delay tactics. Accountability means sunlight • now, not after another news cycle buries it.

Anything less is protection, not process.

Release the Epstein files • unredacted.

Silence is how this becomes routine. A father is gone, a family is shattered, and the institutions meant to protect the public close ranks.

Accountability should not depend on public pressure — but here we are. His name matters. The truth matters. Justice matters.

RESIST | FIGHT's avatar

Silence is still happening — here’s how we keep this visible

Keith Porter and his family deserve justice for his cold blooded murder. We are waiting and watching. May he rest in power.

Across this country we need the message, “Minnesota Strong” absolutely everywhere. Make a shirt. Make a sign.

Now, we all Iive in Minnesota. There is only one fight for our freedom.

RESIST | FIGHT's avatar

Exactly. “Minnesota Strong” isn’t branding > it’s collective resolve.

What’s happening there shows how communities stand together, refuse fear, and make it clear there’s one shared fight for freedom.

Don'tStopMeNow/Toni Lawrence's avatar

You are so right. Minnesota is our capital city. They are our brothers and sisters, our neighbors, our parents, our extended family. Washington DC no longer represents us. "Minnesota Strong"

I remember writing a poem about Good's murder and noting that it took a white mother dying to get the legacy media's attention. ICE is trained to murder at the slightest inconvenience or ego bruising. Hundreds have died both directly and indirectly art their hands, but legacy media only cared about the white mother (the even withheld her LGBT+ status for a bit to make her image fit more snugly into their preferred narrative). When I'm done with the series of poems celebrating the foods that the current US regime seeks to condemn, I will need to write about him. For all who carry the mantle of Seacole and Nightingale are heroes born and made.

RESIST | FIGHT's avatar

I hear this.

Whose deaths get amplified and whose are ignored • is part of the harm. Telling these stories through art is a way of refusing that erasure.

Those who heal, who care, who show up for others carry a legacy that deserves to be named and remembered, every time.

Commie Crumpet's avatar

Meanwhile, is there a food you wanna see celebrated? So far, I’ve covered beans, hot cereals/porridges, canned tomatoes, instant mashed potatoes (I make some killer potato dumpling with them), yaupon holly (a foragable tea), and a struggle meal of peas and potatoes,

I’ll be queuing them to post later, there’s seven or eight already scheduled right now.

Commie Crumpet's avatar

Yeah, I can see that. It's filling, tasty, and the one place you NEVER wanna see raisins.

Pamela Graves's avatar

Ego bruising now seems to be a new defense against murder.

RESIST | FIGHT's avatar

Exactly. Hurt pride is being treated like justification ° as if a bruised ego can outweigh a human life. That inversion tells you how warped the moral logic has become.

Commie Crumpet's avatar

Only under fascism/no longer hidden racism.

RESIST | FIGHT's avatar

Exactly. Fascism doesn’t create racism • it removes the shame around it. What was once coded becomes overt, what was denied becomes policy. That’s how you know the mask is off.

Me Always's avatar

NONE of those ICE MURDERERS are even in custody!!! They have been sent to other states to proceed as directed…. which does not include rounding up illegal immigrants and criminals😤. It includes killing outstanding, innocent American citizens! Think about that! They are not even in custody🤬🤬🤬

RESIST | FIGHT's avatar

That’s the core outrage: no one has been taken into custody.

The agent who killed Alex Pretti hasn’t been arrested or charged. Federal authorities are defending the shooting, reassigning agents, and blocking accountability while evidence is contested.

That’s not justice • it’s impunity.

Don'tStopMeNow/Toni Lawrence's avatar

They even detained witnesses and confiscated their phones! Talk about invisibility and accountability! Just another cover up in a regime rife with cover ups. Release the Epstein Files!

Yes. Let’s remember Keith Porter jr. Tell us about him. He looks like a nice guy.

What was his crime? Walking, while black? Driving, while black? Or just breathing while black?

Marnie Screams Into the Void's avatar

LAPD continues to be crap. I love the people of this city, but our "law enforcement" is racist and complicit with/enables ICE. The police commission opened up for public comment at their last meeting, and in spite of a LOT of public pushback from our community, they do nothing but pat themselves on the back for "reducing crime" and do nothing to prosecute Keith Porter Jr's murderer. It doesn't help that our police chief is a white supremacist from Orange County (aka Calibama) and our consistent calls for his removal have produced zero results.

RESIST | FIGHT's avatar

You’re naming the pattern people are being pushed to ignore: when local police normalize collaboration with federal abuse, “oversight” becomes theater and accountability evaporates.

Community testimony gets logged, leadership congratulates itself, and the harm continues • especially when those in charge carry the same ideological blinders they refuse to confront.

This isn’t about loving a city less. It’s about loving it enough to demand consequences, civilian control with teeth, and an end to quiet cooperation that shields violence from scrutiny. Justice delayed here isn’t neutral—it’s permission.

Demand accountability and an end to ICE collaboration:

https://americansagainstice.substack.com

Marnie Screams Into the Void's avatar

We do keep demanding it. We show up to the mayor's office, organize protests and marches to her official residence. City Council members openly mock and ignore us at council meetings. It's been very frustrating, and we feel we're getting nowhere. There are more progressive candidates who will be primarying her this year, and we're putting time and energy into getting someone better in office. LAPD is so corrupt, it's going to take a ton of work to fix that mess, but we have no choice but to keep at it. Too many people are dying and disappearing. This corruption and cruelty is unsustainable. We fight on.

RESIST | FIGHT's avatar

💯 Yes. That frustration is the cost of pushing against entrenched power • not a sign you’re wrong.

Staying organized, primarying, documenting, and refusing to disengage is exactly how pressure turns into change.

Keep going.

DaFlower Shile's avatar

Where was the outrage for him?

Tess Étouffée's avatar

Huh? It's everywhere.

DaFlower Shile's avatar

Stop. It is not mentioned everywhere. Let’s not pretend.

Tess Étouffée's avatar

Where are you looking? 😅 Maybe read The Guardian or AlJazeera? Even the NYT has been covering it. Substack is not the news, unfortunately.

DaFlower Shile's avatar

What’s with the laughing emoji? Quite bot-like.

Tess Étouffée's avatar

I'm laughing at your unwillingness to believe the truth. You're not even competent enough to do your own research. You're just negative and cynical. I'm an old woman who's been protesting for 48 years. Don't wait for other people to show you the way. You have autonomy and, apparently, a phone. Talk is cheap.

DaFlower Shile's avatar

Girl, I’m laughing as I block your stupid ass.

Tess Étouffée's avatar

I don't know what news media you follow, but I'm reading about ICE fatalities daily.

Horrific tragic murder but saddened that his life is not worth the same outrage and attention the white killings have generated

The disparity you’re pointing out is real ° whose deaths are centered and whose are sidelined has never been equal.

Coming back to this on 1/25/2026, it is more relevant than ever. Keith Porter. Renee Good. Alex Pretti. The names accumulate but the pattern of no legit “investigations” hardens, calcifies.

I am so sad to observe, there will almost certainly be more. All of us with a heart and critical thinking mind will keep standing in mutual aid for each other.
